The Bartlett LLP Team

Danielle T. Bruno

Danielle Bruno has spent her twenty-year career representing a diverse client base in matters involving general liability and medical malpractice defense. Ms. Bruno is an integral part of the firm’s specialized team, which focuses on the defense of nursing homes, adult homes and assisted living facilities. Ms. Bruno has worked with hundreds of doctors and nurses to develop solid and successful defense strategies in cases that are often considered indefensible. Through her hard work and dedication, Ms. Bruno has secured numerous favorable summary judgment decisions and has negotiated countless favorable and nominal settlements even in nursing home cases with less than favorable charts. Ms. Bruno believes that there is no substitute for an early and thorough investigation, which must include knowledge of the minute detail of a facility’s chart. Her witnesses will verify that she dedicates hours, and even days, preparing them for a deposition, and that her approach provides them with a sense of calm and security despite the anxiety that often surrounds an Examination Before Trial.

Ms. Bruno has served on the Board of Directors for the local not-for-profit organization, the Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center, and has authored literature for their client base with regard to family advocacy for dementia residents in the inpatient setting.

With respect to her medical malpractice experience, Ms. Bruno has defended hundreds of matters alleging professional negligence in areas including pressure injuries, falls in the facility setting, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious disease, cardiology, neurology, cancer treatment and medication errors.

Ms. Bruno graduated from Hofstra School of Law in 2000 and began her legal career as a NYC Assistant Corporation Counsel for five years. While with Corporation Counsel, she gained extensive trial experience in the Tort Division and practiced in all areas of municipal liability including labor law, premises liability, false arrest and special duty. Ms. Bruno was promoted to management before leaving to pursue a career in private practice.
