Tina Scognamillo has been with the firm for over eighteen years. Throughout her 30 plus year career, she has represented major medical institutions, health care facilities, nursing homes, as well as individual physicians. Ms. Scognamillo has successfully defended cases involving surgical, emergency medicine, neurological, obstetrical and other medical issues. Her practice has also included the defense of matters involving decubitus ulcers and other skin breakdown issues. In that regard, she has met with and prepared numerous wound care nurses and physicians to develop a strategic defense. Ms. Scognamillo’s experience includes all aspects of litigation from inception to trial in cases involving highly complex medical cases. Ms. Scognamillo prides herself on connecting with her clients and providing them with personal attention. Ms. Scognamillo believes that the key to a solid and thorough defense starts with the client appreciating that their attorney is readily accessible, no matter the day or hour.
Ms. Scognamillo obtained her Juris Doctor in 1989 from St. John’s University School of Law and her Bachelor’s (B.S.) in 1986 from St. John’s University. She is admitted to the United Stated District Court for the Eastern District and is a member of the New York Academy of Trial Lawyers, of which she holds a Board position (2016 – 2017).
