Over the prior two years, Partner Guy A. Lawrence has taken six jury verdicts, and all of them were in favor of the defense:

  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, Kings County in a case alleging negligent emergency medicine care and treatment causing the wrongful death of a 21 year-old patient.
  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, New York County, arising out of allegations of negligently performed right total knee replacement causing impaired ambulation and permanent knee and leg pain.
  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, Richmond County, in a case alleging negligent femoral artery bypass graft surgery resulting in an occlusion with necrosis and excision of the gastrocnemius (calf) muscle with resultant pain and impaired ambulation.
  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, Suffolk County, arising out of complications from a spinal fusion surgery performed on a 29 year-old patient. Complications involved penetration of a pedicle fixation screw through the spinal canal permanently injuring the lumbar spine nerve root, resulting in permanent neuropathy and pain syndrome.
  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, Suffolk County, in an obstetrical malpractice case claiming negligent delay in performance of a cesarean section resulting in the infant’s brain damage.
  • A defendant’s verdict in Supreme Court, New York County, in a case arising from alleged negligently performed total hip replacement with leg lengthening causing permanent sciatic neuropathy and palsy with chronic pain syndrome in the 20 year-old plaintiff.
