Employment law is, simply stated, in a constant state of flux, requiring employers and employees to actively stay informed about their respective rights and responsibilities. We are experienced in helping employers update their workplace policies and procedures to conform to federal and state laws, paying particular attention to compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and electronic communication and privacy laws.  We have particular expertise addressing the overlap between employment and intellectual property law; for example, with the use of employment policies, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements and well-crafted agreements to reduce confusion about intellectual property ownership issues created by employees and contractors. We are also uniquely equipped to understand the unique issues created by the internet, social media and electronic communications policies, and to help ensure that trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights are properly handled and not infringed.
