Grace Carreras McCallen has been a member of the firm since 2004 and assigned to the litigation team specializing in the defense of nursing home, assisted living, home care and hospice. Ms. Carreras McCallen has extensive experience representing major metropolitan medical centers, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in medical malpractice claims. In all cases, she interacts directly with the clients with respect to case analysis, court conferences, motions and representation at depositions. Ms. Carreras McCallen has participated in alternate dispute resolution proceedings in nursing home and medical malpractice cases.

The accumulated skills in representing the healthcare community has proven valuable as a volunteer in the Parish Outreach Program and Our Lady of Fatima, Port Washington, New York. Ms. Carreras McCallen has organized food drives and raised money to purchase school supplies for over 100 children in the Port Washington community. She has been a catechist for seventh grade students for the past 10 years. Recently, Ms. Carreras McCallen has been involved in the Rental Assistance Program in the Port Washington community.

Ms. Carreras McCallen obtained her Juris Doctor at St. John’s University School of Law, J.D. in 1985 and her bachelor’s degree at Boston College, B.A. (Magna Cum Laude) in 1982. She is admitted to the U.S.D.C. for the Eastern District of New York and is a member of many professional organizations, including the Metropolitan Women’s Bar Association, of which she was the past President for the years 2001-2003.
