Mr. Hawkins is a trial attorney, working in both the New York City and Long Island offices, with experience in a broad range of cases, specializing in medical malpractice, labor law, construction accident, and general liability matters involving catastrophic injuries.
In his healthcare practice, Jeff defends physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers against complex medical malpractice claims. Cases he has successfully defended include a full range of claims, from infant brain damage to quadriplegia, to failure to diagnose terminal medical conditions and wrongful death. Jeff has represented physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties, including gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, radiology, infectious disease, orthopedic surgery, neurology, and vascular surgery. He also regularly defends emergency room physicians and staff, and has represented physicians in hearings before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct.
In his construction and labor law practice, Jeff represents buildings owners and contractors, as well as elevator and crane companies, against high exposure claims.
Jeff is admitted to practice in New York State court, as well as New York and Connecticut federal courts.
Jeff obtained a Dual B.A. Degree in Political Science and History from the University of Connecticut and received his Juris Doctorate from the City University of New York School of Law. Jeff is an active member of New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York City Trial Lawyers Association and the New York State Bar Association.
