Bartlett’s Florida Team Wins Another Defense Verdict

Please join us in congratulating our Florida team of Marybeth Cullinan, Jorge L. Cruz-Bustillo and Xiomara L. Cruz for winning another defense verdict on behalf of one of Bartlett’s insurance company clients. In this instance, the Plaintiffs/Homeowners claimed that their property sustained substantial damage from a one-time discharge of water from a drain line.  Following a week-long jury trial in Broward County, the jury deliberated for less than an hour before delivering a verdict for our client. Prior to trial, the Plaintiffs had rejected a reasonable offer as well as a proposal for settlement. In response the plaintiffs furnished an exorbitant estimate to renovate the entire house. With attorney’s fees and a multiplier, the potential exposure was in excess of $500,000.00. By virtue of the verdict, the Plaintiffs will now receive nothing, and our client will be pursuing its defense fees and costs. Complete victory for our insurance carrier client.
