An accomplished attorney with 20 years of experience, Janine has litigated a wide range of civil cases, including Labor Law, construction defect, medical malpractice, general negligence, corporate disputes, due process/breach of contract disputes stemming from student or employment disciplinary proceedings, Title IX gender discrimination, Title VII employment discrimination and defamation. She has handled all aspects of insurance defense litigation, from pleadings through appeals and has extensive courtroom, mediation and arbitration experience.
Janine started her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami Dade County, Florida, where she successfully prosecuted many felony and misdemeanor cases from inception through trial and post-trial appeals. For the past 16 years she worked at three prominent New York City firms and successfully represented corporations, building owners, general contractors, sporting facilities, insurance companies, hospitals, physicians, students and individuals in complex civil matters. Janine is admitted to practice law before the Courts of the State of New York, Florida, California and for the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. She has also appeared and practiced pro hac vice in State and Federal Courts of Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina and Texas.
In addition to practicing law, Janine served as an arbitrator for New York City Civil Court, Bronx County, since 2010, where she was responsible for hearing cases and issuing decisions on a variety of small claims disputes.
