Robert F. Elliott Has Been a Busy Litigator in the First Half of 2016

Robert F. Elliott commenced the year with a big win in Suffolk County.  After a six week trial he obtained a defendant’s verdict on behalf of his hospital client in a complex electrophysiology wrongful death matter.  He followed up this win by embarking on a statewide continuing legal education tour with the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.  Along with another presenter, he spoke to attorneys statewide with respect to the electronic medical record.  His continuing legal education seminars were well received by attorneys on Long Island, in Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo and Rochester.  He next proceeded to trial in Suffolk County in April and May and again delivered a defendant’s verdict on behalf of his hospital client in a complex wrongful death action involving a middle aged gentleman who ultimately died of surgical complications.  His continuing legal and medical education efforts continued and in May he was a featured speaker on behalf of the New York State Bar Association program “Medical Malpractice Litigation 2016”.  He presented a humorous and informative session to more than 150 lawyers regarding the preparation and defense of the defendant medical provider at deposition.  He concluded his education efforts on June 7, 2016 when he presented at the New York Health Information Management Association annual general meeting, which this year was held at the Huntington Hilton.  More than 250 attendees thoroughly enjoyed his presentation on the “The Legal EMR: A Litigation Perspective”.
